VEGA PEL-3 Sector Light

The PEL-3 Sector Light has been designed for night use on solar-powered installations.  It can also be used day or night, and with commercial power via the VPR-36 switch-mode power supply. The PEL-3 provides a signal up to 19 nautical miles  at night (3.5 degree subtense) with a 12 Volt, 100 Watt lamp, and is fully automatic in operation. Subtenses of 3.5 degree up to  25 degrees are available, and lamps from 10W to 100W.

The PEL Sector Light is a land-based navigation light which shows a different colour when viewed from different angles at sea. The mariner sees a single light - which is red, white or green in colour at any point in time. From the colour of the light he can determine the lateral position of the vessel. With optional oscillating boundary, the signal alternates between two colours in proportion to the distance across the sector. PEL Sector Lights indicate the precise vessel position in confined waterways. They are used in situations where extreme accuracy is required, or where only a single station is possible. Each light is custom-configured for its site requirements. Contact us for more information and assistance with selecting the appropriate PEL light for your project or location.
